Our History

Emblaze was incorporated under the name of GEO International Computer Based Training Ltd. in 1994 as an Israeli software company developing computer based training. The Company name was later changed to GEO Interactive Media Group Ltd ("GEO").

In 1996 the Company developed the first stage of a technology we called "Emblaze" for delivery of multimedia over fixed IP networks. The Company continued to develop this technology over the years to deliver not only animation but also audio and video. In 1999 the Company developed a technology for delivery of video to mobile phones which was also branded "Emblaze".

In 1996, GEO floated on the Alternative Investment Market in London (LSE: GIM.L) raising funds in order to build the products and bring them to market.

In 1998, GEO changed its name to Emblaze to unify the technology and company name and moved to the main listing on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: BLZ.L).

The Company’s optimism was devastated by the telecom downturn across the years 2001 – 2004. Revenues and share price plummeted along with the rest of the industry and tech stocks.

Recognizing the need to strengthen and build upon our core competency and skills in the technology arena markets, Emblaze began a process of streamlining activities by re-arranging a number of businesses.

2005 was mainly characterized by the admission of several of the Group’s subsidiaries to the Alternative Investment Market in London with the intention of providing the units with the funds and transparency attributed to listed companies and provide them with strategic convenience for bringing in partners and raising a separate profile for each individual business unit in its field.

The group has decided to diverse it's business in combining both it's traditional innovation R&D initiatives with a solid operational activities. Since 2006, a strong management team was built from within the group's executives with very focused operational skills. The team has structured the group in a focused and operationally efficient portfolio of businesses. The acquisition of Formula Systems in November 2006, added a group of subsidiaries engaged in IT services and proprietary software solutions on a global basis.

Today, Emblaze’ businesses address both growth and innovation activities thus combining the stability of “bread and butter” mature technology enterprises with “high-risk / high-reward” investments in innovation.

The management strives for continuous improvement of the group's operational performance and long-term value creation through synergies between Group companies, bolt-on mergers & acquisitions, targeting mature software & IT companies and by leveraging the Group’s strong financial position and management experience.
